In this gentle 60-minute practice, let's slow down, breathe and explore how the prompts of water and air feel in our bodies and minds. Leave feeling maybe a bit lighter, a bit freer, as we connect with ourselves.
This practice is suitable for everyone, even if you've never taken a yoga class before. Can't touch your toes? Worried you'll need to twist yourself into a pretzel? None of that is important to do yoga- if you can breathe, then you can do yoga! Variations are always available (for example, using a chair, the wall, or any props that help you find steadiness and ease).
Over the hour, we will breathe and move together through a series of poses (asanas) that will focus on the hips and shoulders, working on our strength, active and passive flexibility. Through this, we work towards quieting and calming the mind in both movement and stillness.
Athanda Stretch, Strength & Yoga is committed to helping people move, using whatever equipment is readily available!
Please go to "FORMS" for equipment suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions!

If you have any friends or family you think might be interested, please share this information with them!
Participation is free! However, if you are able, please consider making a donation to a local charity near you. This is one way we can practice karma yoga- helping others if we're able.
As this practice is focused on water and air, some charities you might consider include those involved in environmental conservation and sustainability. Or perhaps any ornithological societies in your area!
However there are also non monetary ways to help in the community if you're able, such as collecting litter or volunteering. Learning about how to protect our fine feathered friends and ways to conserve water counts too!
Please see below for our previous events!
